In October 1999, Tan Concepción & Bawagan was formed as a law partnership by six (6) lawyers. It was reorganized as TAN & CONCEPCIÓN in January 2002 and is currently practicing under the firm name TAN CONCEPCIÓN & QUE.  It is presently composed of five (5) partners, four (4) associates, two (2) consultants for special projects, two (2) land specialists, and an of counsel.

The partners and associates are graduates of the University of the Philippines, Ateneo de Manila, San Beda University and University of Santo Tomas (from Class 1982 to Class 2016), most of whom have worked closely with one another for a number of years. Their collaboration includes the successful handling of significant business/legal transactions, including loan syndication; large-scale property acquisition and property swaps; title verification and legal audit; incorporation, corporate reorganization and corporate buy-outs; registration and/or public listing of securities; corporate dissolution and insolvency proceedings; land-use conversion and land titling; foreign investments; lease financing; bank chartering and banking operations; and public infrastructure projects. The Firm has sufficient experience in handling litigation or trial work, as well as immigration, intellectual property, telecommunications matters, tax structuring, estate planning, labor, corporate liquidation and public and private contracts negotiations and preparations.  Some members of the Firm are also engaged in social development work as counsel to, or members of, non-governmental organizations, including those engaged in literacy, micro-financing, food security, urban poor, gender sensitivity and environment.

 

At present, the Firm is privileged to have the trust and confidence of clients in diverse fields of business, giving the Firm extensive exposure in litigation matters and commercial transactions. Among the Firm’s former and present clients are those involved in infrastructure development and operations, power generation, ship management, crew manning, towage & salvage operations, property development, banking, cement manufacturing and distribution, general and specialty contracting, IT and ICT-based systems development and distribution, food franchising, furniture export, water treatment, manpower supply, aviation, health care services, insurance brokering, actuarial consultancy and related fields, franchising  and social development work.
